Animations

Ball And Cloth

This animation was a test of realistic 'soft-body dynamics' physics engine that shipped with Lightwave 6.5. A still picture doesn't really do it justice, so a simple animation shows it in action. Gravity and a little horizontal wind effect is applied in the physics engine and the sub-divided green cloth object falls slowly to the ground.

Ball And Furry Cloth

This is the same animation as above but an also an experiment using the rather amazing Worley Saquatch plugin for creating realistic fur and hair surfaces. A fur surface has been applied to the cloth.

Chronos Torpedo

The Chronos space fighter as seen in Image Gallery 3 is attacked and damaged. After being damaged it powers up again and does a runner, as you would.
Rendered On: Pentium 166Mhz   Lightwave Version: 4.0   Size: 5.54MB

Chronos Explode

The same Chronos space fighter as above but this time having a bit of fun and blowing it up - and why not.
Rendered On: Pentium 166Mhz   Lightwave Version: 4.0   Size: 0.97MB

Steamer Logo

Created while at work for a project called 'Scooter' as test of the new volumetric rendering plugins in Lightwave 5.5. The light shines through the logo in a similar way to the famous Dolby Digital cinema animation.
Rendered On: Pentium 2 400Mhz   Lightwave Version: 5.6   Size: 0.83MB

Playstation

A spinning animation showing off the detail on the Playstation object I created as seen in Image Gallery 2.
Rendered On: Pentium 3 500Mhz   Lightwave Version: 5.6   Size: 2.52MB

Blue Chip

Created for a IT company as a project while I was at university. Shows a flashy spinning logo with all the usual Lightwave specials such as lens flares and spinning letters.
Rendered On: Pentium 166Mhz   Lightwave Version: 4.0   Size: 0.85MB

Voxel Water

Test of a new Lightwave features called 'Voxels'. Used to create 'blobby' or organic looking shapes that merge and flow together in a realistic way.
Rendered On: Pentium 2 400Mhz   Lightwave Version: 5.6   Size: 0.83MB

Glowing Sparks

Playing around with another Lightwave feature which is a particle engine. This allows you to create nice sparks, snow, rain, fireworks etc. style effects. You can apply various effects such as gravity, wind and flocking to create more realistc motion.
Rendered On: Pentium 200Mhz   Lightwave Version: 5.0   Size: 0.90MB

Mouse

An animation of a bizare metalic mouse object that test the Lightwave feature known as 'bones' which is used to deform and shape objects during animations.
Rendered On: Pentium 200Mhz   Lightwave Version: 5.0   Size: 1.53MB

Ocean

An simple animation of rolling 3D ocean.
Rendered On: Pentium 200Mhz   Lightwave Version: 5.0   Size: 1.75MB

Asteriod Trail

Another test of the Lightwave particle system, this time showing an asteroid spinning through space with a trail of dust and steam coming from it.
Rendered On: Pentium 166Mhz   Lightwave Version: 4.0   Size: 1.00MB

Snow Fall

A simple animation of snow particles.
Rendered On: Pentium 166Mhz   Lightwave Version: 4.0   Size: 0.80MB
