House, Techno, Progressive Dance MusicI love it, all of it, even the mad stuff. I have hundreds of hours of DJ mixes, CDs, live and studio mixes from 1988 to the present day. I have a fondness for 'classic house' music from 1988-1995 but also love the modern style of dance music such as progressive house and breaks.Favorite DJs and producers (in no particular order) whos music I listen too and so have influenced my tunes include: Carl Cox, Chris Cowie, Circulation, Danny Rampling, Dave Angel, Dave Clarke, High Contrast, James Holden, James Zabiela, John OO Flemming, John Digweed, Laurent Garnier, Mrs Wood, Nick Warren, Parks & Wilson, Paul Oakenfold, Paul Van Dyk, Plump DJs, Sander Kleinenberg, Sasha, Scott Bond, Silicone Soul, Steve Lawler, Tony De Vit. The Essential Mix and Kiss 100 FMClearly these are the finest radio shows in the UK for dance music addicts. Massive respect has to go to Pete Tong for his Essential Mix radio show on BBC Radio 1 in the UK which has been running for over 10 years now. And also to John Digweed's slot on Kiss100 FM. The Essential Mix is a 2 hour advert-free DJ slot aired in the UK between 2am and 4am on Sunday morning. These are havens for new and old DJs alike to play their finest wares. You can easily find digital copies of these mixes using tools such as Kazaa, E-Mule and of course freshly_mixed.Tracks I've WrittenI'm not that great at it, but i've been writing tracks with various programs under the pseudonym of 'Shockwave' since 1995 so i've had plenty of practice. The tracks are separated into two areas, old and new tunes. The newer tunes are generally more accessable with the older tracks being faster, harder dance music. |
